The original Poggio Civitate Excavation Project database sometimes recorded subdivisions of excavation trenches. Each subdivision was identified with a unique key ("Trench ID"), and this key was used to relate other content to excavation trenches, even though these relationships were not made visible on the Poggio Civitate Excavation website (http://www.poggiocivitate.org/). The Open Context publication of these data makes the Trench IDs visible in case they should be analytically useful.
