pottery -  4 latte

4.   Cut into burn layer in M/68.  The cut goes through burn layer to a soil that is fairly clean and with few finds.  In western 1/2 the cut it terminates at a whitish color of unknown type - not soil, not ash - perhaps decomposed rock.  Lots of pottery came out as we went through burn layer but at bottom of cut finds minimalize.

5.   O/66: Made 5 cm cut in O/66 in area between stump and tile line.  Small area approx

Soil appears to be shifting from soil desc. NM II, p. 183 to a more clayish darker soil with burnt material.  Cut terminates c. 90 cm b.s.
