  1. Continued w/ 10 com cut (30-40 cm b.s.) in meters M-N/70 and M-O/71.  Soil is a medium brown/yellow-orange with same tile/rock inclusions at same frequency.  Of note is increase in pottrey - mostly impasto but w/ a few bucchero and redware.  Some show secondary burning.  Other evidence of burn is infrequent-rare charcoal pieces.  Finds include ssling stone (#1, M70) and bronze fragment (#2, M/70).  Also of not are 4 pithos frags from M/69, two still partially buried and left til next cut.  8 unworked bone frags.
  2. Initiated 10 cm cut (40-50 cms b.s.) in O/71.  Soil is same as previous cut.  Work halted at 10:30 AM for lecture.
