Beginning in M-N/71 making a 10 cm cut back from western baulk of 1988 T/26 excavations.  Cut then extended to include 0/71.  Soil is dark brown sod layer with many roots.

P.M.

tile = 1/2 casseta

pottery = 1 fragment

Continued topsoil cut in meters M-O/66-71 to approx 10 cms.  A second 10 cm cut was initiated in meters M-O/66.  Soil throughout is dark brown - humus with many roots and infrequent small pebble to fist sized marbled schist.  \\large stumps, one located at meters N-O/66, M-N/69, and M-N/71.  Tile fragments are small to fist sized and weathered.  Single pottery fragment is impasto handle.
