1. Made a 5 cm cut (on western side of line of tile) in meters M-O/66 - Meter O/66 was uniform medium-light brown to light brown silty soil with very little cultural material and no burn material. N/66 held a layer of the mixed burn soil above the lighter clean soil. M/66 appears to be entirely different, being more red w/ burn material and much more pottery and tile. Pottery in M/66 is mostly fine orangeware. The possibility exists of a pit on northern 1/2 of M/66. This appear to abutt the line of tile. Elsewhere, the soil along the tile is, at this depth, either the silty light brown or decomposed limestone of greyish green color.

2. Made cut in M/64-65 to ~60 cm deept. Soil continues as in O-N/64-65 (see NM II, p. 177 ) as do finds of tile and pottery. No finds or other information.

pottery - 1 dz frags
3. Took a cut in meters M-O/67 (eastern side of line of tile) circa 5 cm to level down to tile. Soil is uniform color and texture, being a very mixed reddish brown soil with extensive inclusions of plaster at pebble size. This soil is very analagous to soil described NM II, pps 29-31 except without the burn material, and being of a redder cast.
4. Made cut in O/67 to c. 95 cm and abutting line of tile. This does not clarify relationship of lighter unmixed soil found in O/68 as there are various pockets of lighter brown silty soil, mixed dark brown w/ inclusions and also pockets of darker green claying soil.
