Continued cleaning baulk. M/65-66 at c. 80-100 cm produced a lot of fine red/orange ware, which tapered off in concentration in M/67. Nothing else of note.

2. Stump O/65-66
Clean stump which had previously been rolled off its placement at circa 85 cm. Cleaning produced small fragments of tile and mixed pottery.

1. Mestied area mentioned NM II, p. 255 left when stump removed. Revealed large concentration of mostly pithos, some rock, and less tile. See drawing NM II, p. 259 and also photos were taken. Amidst the pithos frags. sat a large fragment of Ridgepole tile. This concentration of pithos porbably relates to those previously removed from N-M/65 (see page ).
Having removed riddgepole frag, it is found to sit on more pithos and another fragment of ridgepole.
Soil that this concentration sat in was of the usual mixed level for these depths. Pockets of bright red/orange decomposed plaster, fragment of plaster, hunks of charcoal (to 2 cms) sat in a predominantly medium-dark brown soil, that occasionally gave way to a light brown, fairly sily soil.
