1. Extended 20 cm cut (20 cm b.s.) to squares M/64-65. Soil is as in N-O/64-65 dark brown humus with lots of roots and stones. Find are minimal and badly worn.
2. 5 cm cut initiated in O/66-68 Due to the wetness of the soil, we could not use picks but had to mesti. An apparent line of tile was encountered in O/67 at southern baulk. This tile runs in a SE to NW orientation into N/66. Three types of soil are being encountered in this cut. In O/68 a medium brown soil w/ frequent inclusions of pebble sized chunks of plaster/tile and infrequen charcoal. As on approaches the tile in meter 67, the soil darkens until in makes a definate shift to dark med-brown soil
of high plaster content 10-20 cm east of the tile fall. In the meter west of the tile (meter 66) once beyond 5-10 cm off the tile, the soil changes to a light brown/olive with almost no plaster inclusions - occassional charcoal pieces are encountered.
