Description This LOCA represents the Special Interest Area for the entire Kromna area. It includes everything bounded by the Examilia-Kyras Vrysi road on the North and the gravel "South Kromna road" on the south. It includes the area of the quarries, the ritual dining rooms (LOCAs 9130, 9131), the wheel ruts (9133), the olive/grape press (9132), and the high artifact density LOCAs 9128 and 9129. LOCA designated to account for numerous features and cut stone blocks encountered in Team 1's transect in 2000. Team 2 transect also cut through this area and the features in this transect should also be grouped in this LOCA. During the 2001 season, Team 1 recorded most architectural blocks in a systematic way. See Team 1 field notebook and season final reports. In 2002, additional features such as clusters of blocks were plotted, a new LOCA (9155) was designated, and LOCAs 9130, 9131, and 9133 (see above) were surveyed with an Electronic Total Station. See Tartaron et al. 2006; Caraher, Nakassis, and Pettegrew 2006.
