Description | Locus 11 is a rectangular shaped worked limestone with rounded edges measuring 0.35m by 0.30m, which sits 1.20m east of Locus 5 and is abutted by the OC2/Workshop floor. The surface of the stone is cracked and preserves grooves that indicate tool use. Locus 11 is a worked stone feature that lies on the same line of the worked stone features of Loci 5 and 18. Loci 11 and 18 are different in shape but similar in size. Locus 11 is a column pad in the workshop structure. A wooden column likely rested on the stone and functioned to supported the roof of the structure. It is surrounded by plaster floor which functioned as the working surface of the workshop. The plaster floor was constructed around the column pads after they were deposited. Locus 11 is in line with Locus 5 and Locus 18, spaced ca. 1.20 m apart. There are three lines of such stones that functioned to support the OC2/Workshop roof. Each stone is abutted by the plaster floor surface (Loci 2,3). |
