Description |
Locus 4 is a level compacted plaster surface associated with OC2/Workshop. The plaster surface is well preserved within the extent of Locus 3, though the surface preserves many small cracks. Locus 4 extends for 4.42 meters along the eastern baulk wall before abutting Locus 5 and being cut by Locus 22. The floor ranges in thickness from 0.08 m to 0.12 m. The surface extends to the edge of Locus 5, indicating that the OC2/Workshop column bases were put in place before the plaster surface was laid down. The plaster surface is equal to Locus 2, and is cut by Locus 21 and Locus 22. Locus 21 forms a small rectilinear cut in the eastern extent of Locus 4 that is filled by Locus 15. Locus 3 is a cut that forms a linear and a connected rectilinear space filled by Locus 3 and Locus 19. Further excavation is needed to clarify the function of the cuts with the floor. The cuts are potentially related to drainage necessitated by production. |
