Description | Locus 9 is a level compacted plaster surface associated with OC2/Workshop. The plaster surface is well preserved within the extent of Locus 9, though the layer preserves many cracks. Locus 9 appears to have been connected with the plaster floor surface of Locus 4 but fractured off before the destruction of the building. The fragment now lies within a depression that slopes down to the north, beginning ca. 0.036 m from the northern preserved edge of the OC2/Workshop floor. The plaster surface is equal to Loci 2, 4, and abuts Locus 7. Locus 7 may be associated with the preparation for the construction of the OC2/Workshop floor surface and most likely pre-dates Locus 9. Further excavation is needed to clarify the construction methods of the OC2/Workshop floor. |
