Trench | T26 2024 |
Year | 2024 |
Description |
Locus 39 is a section of the OC2/Workshop’s plaster floor surface that runs diagonally through the trench. In the east of the trench 1.20 m of the surface is included and in the west of the trench 0.55 m of the surface is within the trench. The surface of the locus is highly compacted pinkish-brown plaster. Within Locus 34, a 0.31m in length and 0.18m in width stone is located at 172.7E/ 67.80S. This stone is surrounded by the plaster floor surface and is associated with the OC2/Workshop structure, possibly as a small pad for the northern most roof supports. Locus 39 was left unexcavated during the 2024 season. The surface was troweled and brushed to fully the floor surface throughout its extent. It is equal to loci 2, 4, 16, and 39. NB: It was decided on 18 July to continue the sequence of loci from T26 in the 2023 season. What was designated Locus 2 at that point was converted to Locus 39. Any remaining mentions of Locus 2 in this notebook or the associated documentation and artifacts of T26 in the 2024 season should be considered Locus 39. |
