Metal Summary

Locus # organic remains found % organic remains found 38 2 66.66% 39 0 0% 40 1 33.33% 41 0 0% Total 3 100%

Few metals were recovered from T26 in the 2024 season; in total, we found 3 metal fragments. The small amount of metal recovered in 2024 is consistent with the amounts of metal recovered in T26 in 2023, 2022, and 2019 which yielded few, or no, metal finds. Locus 38, a heavily plaster-included brown soil layer that covers the roof collapse of the OC2/Workshop structure, contained two small fragments of metal. The first fragment is a small bronze droplet (Special Find # 3) found in Locus 38, the layer above the roof collapse from the OC2/Workshop, and the second is a small hollow fragment of iron (Special Find # 4). In Locus 40, the heavily plaster-included layer that covers and may be part of the OC2/Workshop roof collapse contained a small fragment of a folded bronze sheet (Special Find # 21). Due to the small amount of metal finds within T26 in 2024, any interpretation of metal usage or production is inconclusive.
