18 July 2024 AM Excavation began with defining tiles throughout Locus 3. Additional tiles, some vitrified, were found throughout the locus. While defining, a fragment of impasto with adhered plaster and two grooves close to a rim was found and recorded as special find #20.

The edge of the floor surface in Locus 2 was defined. A tile along the western extent of the trench was found leaning against the edge of the floor surface. The heavily compacted plaster in the central meter of the trench was removed using hand picks and trowels. Large fragments were revealed.

PM The defining of the tiles continued throughout the trench. Tiles now extend throughout the entirety of Locus 3 with the exception of the easternmost extent of the trench. Trowels, leaf trowels, hand picks were used to continue to lower the level of the heavily plaster included soil of Locus 3. The trench was swept and closing elevations were taken.
