Description Locus 5 is a dark, mottled soil with heavy terracotta and carbon inclusions, heavier than Locus 4, which was also a mottled soil. In addition, there was a noticeable increase in the amount of burned material and vitrified terracotta. The soil also contained many rocks ranging in size from 10-20cm, but they did not appear to be either architectural or a feature.
