Daily photos taken of Locus 19 and baulk trim. Daily opening elevations taken:

SW Corner: 23.98m A.E.
Work begun in Locus 19 with small hand picks in order to remove more stones from the western face of the circular feature and better expose the interior profile. One stone removed from the northwestern edge of the exterior profile of the feature. It is approximately 30-35cm in length. A second stone (~30cm in length) removed from just below the first. Bronze flake recovered and collected in bulk. Stone (~50cm in length)
removed from western face of the circular feature along with a small stone (~5-10cm) just to the north. Two small stones (~5-10cm) removed from the northwest face of the exterior profile. Soil remains moist and claylike, medium brown with few inclusions of pottery and terra cotta. Three small stones (~5-10cm) removed from western face of exterior profile. Another small bronze flake recovered and collected in bulk.
Work refocused to the interior of the circular feature. Soil collected in plastic bags (two buckets' worth) for flotation. Soil remains medium brown, moist, and claylike, but far fewer inclusions of terra cotta. Many small stones (5-10cm in length) present in the interior of the feature, many are deteriorating. Fragment of frieze plaque cavetto recovered.

A fragment of horse race frieze plaque recovered. Two bags of soil collected for flotation, the remainder of removed soil will be sorted into buckets. Horse race frieze plaque fragment appears to have elements of paint preserved.

Stone (~15cm in length) removed from the interior of Locus 19 . Soil cleaned from Locus 19 and floor of the trench ( Locus 18 ). Fourth 50cm cut complete. Soil sorted into wheel barrow; terra cotta recovered. Photos taken of circular feature from the western safety step to capture the profile as well as from above the circular feature to capture the aperture. Work refocused to the exterior of the circular feature in order to bring the remaining soil of the fifth 50cm cut to the floor level of the trench ( Locus 18 ) and expose and define any remaining exterior stones of the face of the circular feature. Work commenced with a large pick axe to remove the exterior layer of deteriorating rock quickly. Soil brought to the level of trench floor ( Locus 18 ). Soil shoveled
into buckets and dumped onto the dirt dump. Work recommenced with small hand picks in order to define the exterior profile of the circular feature. Soil remains deteriorating rock, except just outside the exposed stones where the soil is moist, claylike soil.
Soil continues to consist of deteriorating stone and materials--pottery, terra cotta, bone, etc.--are absent. Soil removed up the western face of the circular feature exposing seven new stones in the profile. Work continued with leaf trowel to further define newly exposed stones. Illustration made of the newly exposed stones in the western exterior profile using the meter by meter drawing square. Photographs of the western exterior taken as well.

With the fourth 50cm cut done and fully documented, the fifth 50cm cut begun. Work focused on first removing stones from the exterior of the circular feature. Four flat stones ranging from 15-40cm in length removed from the northwestern edge of the feature. Soil between the rocks removed remains consistent with Locus 19--a medium brown, claylike, and moist soil. Several 5-10cm stones also removed from the exterior coursing, not saved. Two larger (20-30cm) stones removed from the northern edge of the profile. A stone of 45cm in length removed from the southwestern edge. The second tarp for saving well stones has been completely filled, so a third tarp set up directly to its north (with the most southern edge of the tarp aligned with 2014 T 61's northern baulk wall). The first rock deposited on it came
from directly below the one just removed from the southwestern edge and is about 35cm in length. From below that a flat rock of 30cm length removed as well as several small 5-10cm stones. From the westernmost edge another 30cm rock removed. These large rocks are being saved on the tarp in the same fashion as before, being placed beginning at the northwest corner, moving towards the northeastern corner, in subsequent rows. Two rocks standing vertically along the western edge, approximately 15-20cm in length, each removed as well as associated small (5-10cm length) stones. A fragment of bone recovered. Exterior profile stones removed to an average depth of 20cm of the exposed face. The ones currently left in situ are being wedged in place by stones, tile, and soil in the interior, therefore work now concentrated on removing interior materials. While the soil remains consistent with Locus 19 , the concentration of tile has
dropped off considerably. Pottery is being recovered in a small concentration but at a slightly more frequent rate than in some of the higher, previous cuts. The packing of tile has been replaced by a higher concentration of stones, many 20-40cm in length. One stone of 15cm length removed from the interior as well as several fragments of pan tile recovered. Two more interior stones removed, one 20cm in length and the other 45cm in length. A large, flat stone of 35cm in length removed from the interior as well as small (5-10cm) stones and some terra cotta fragments recovered. Soil remains consistent with Locus 19 . Two more stones, one of 15cm and another of 20cm, removed from the interior. In order to provide better access to the interior, three more exterior stones 20-35cm in length which were stacked atop each other removed from the southwestern edge of the circular feature's profile. A stone 60cm in length removed
from the southwestern edge of the feature. From near the trench floor a stone 20cm in length loosened and removed. Two smaller rocks, 10-20cm in length, removed from the southeastern edge of the circular feature's profile. Several small stones (5-10cm in length) removed from the exterior profile, not all saved. Now only about 20cm of stone left in the exterior profile above the trench floor. Work redirected once more to the interior, especially focusing on the eastern side and interior profile where the elevation is currently much higher. Work on the circular feature paused for the time being. Because the stone coursing of the circular feature currently extends into the trench floor, the elevation of Locus 18 must be dropped further. Before doing so, the eastern baulk wall south of the circular feature must be trimmed back to allow better visibility of the profile and more maneuverability when excavating the trench floor ( Locus 18 ) further.
All materials recovered will be collected as baulk trim south of the circular feature. Pick axe used to remove stones and soil, which are shoveled into buckets and sorted in the wheel barrow. Small concentrations of tile and pottery recovered. Work refocused on the floor of the trench ( Locus 18 ) in order to continue to expose the circular feature as it continues below the visible surface. Work is conducted with the large pick and soil is shoveled into buckets to be sorted into wheel barrows. Soil remains consistent with deteriorating stone. No materials included.
