Fabric Description | Terracotta |
Description | Fragment A preserves approximately half of a complete lateral sima. The feline water spout is still attached and protrudes 0.085 m from the sima. The proper right side of the feline’s face preserves the brow ridge and upper cheek. The proper left side of the feline is broken off at the brow ridge. The water spout is preserved down to the bridge of the feline’s nose. The fragment preserves the complete diameter of the water spout, along with the attachment for the strut inside the mouth. Thirteen complete strigils are preserved with a max. pres. height of 0.089 m. The proper left edge is finished, along with the top and back. There are attachment scars for other appliques. Fragment B: A pan tile fragment of the lateral sima preserves the proper left edge, the pan tile, a small amount of the front, and a small amount of the flange. The full height of the flange is preserved (0.105 m). Fragment C : Concave terracotta rosette fragment preserves portion of the central knob and five and a half petals, all finger-incised. Approximately 2/3 of the rosette is preserved and its scar attachment matches with the attachment on fragment A. Fragment D: Female head applique preserves the full head with brow, eyes, nose, mouth, chin, and hair, along with the attachment back that attaches to the lateral sima. |
