AM:

We continued to excavate in the NE1 corner of Locus 10 and the SW corner of Locus 11. This was to expose and define the continuing line of stone that begins in the NW corner of Locus 8 and is situated to the S and slightly west. The balk walls in the E and S edges of Locus 9, the W of Locus 11 and in the N and S of Locus 10 were straightened. Finds in those bulk walls were consistent, with some pieces of terracotta and a few pottery fragments. IN the SE balk wall, slightly more pottery was found, including an impasto base fragment. The soil in the higher parts of the balk walls are crumbly and dry, nearing clay loam at equal elevation to the trench floor.

PM:

The balk walls continued to be worked on, and the space directly below them leveled out. Loose soil from this was removed with trowels and dustpans. Roots were clipped, especially the larger ones in the balk walls. After it was made sure that all of the balk wall were straight, the whole trench began to be swept in preparation for photos. Once Locus 10 and 11 were swept, closing photos were taken. Due to tree obstructions around the two loci, Locus 11 photos had to be taken towards the W and N and Locus 10 photos were taken towards the S and E.
