Description |
Locus 22 is a cut within the plaster floor surface of Locus 2. The cut forms a linear extension from the stone column base of Locus 5 before extending to the west and forming a rectangular shape with curved edges. The rectilinear space is filled with a soil deposit excavated as Locus 3 and the rectangular space is filled with the soil deposit Locus 19. Both fills are composed of a compacted brown soil and clay mixture with inclusions of pottery, bone, vitrified material, and small rocks. Further excavation is needed to clarify the function of the cuts within the floor. The cuts are potentially related to drainage necessitated by production. |
