Description Locus 3 spans the entire trench and is composed of a yellowish-brown soil with some carbon inclusions. The soil is somewhat sandy in texture. The locus contains some rocks, however they do not appear to be architectural. Locus 3 contained a large amount of pottery and terracotta tile. There were 616 sherds of pottery unearthed, 414 of which were impasto, 138 fine impasto, 62 coarseware, and 2 sherds of bucchero. In addition, approximately 9 bowls of terracotta tile were found.
