Due to rain overnight, the 10cm sounding planned for Locus 5 and 8 postponed until the soil is excavateable. Photographs taken of the fragmentary but almost full profile base in Locus 5 . The second extension of T 62 relatively dry and able to be excavated. Pick pass initiated in the north moving south. Beneath the Locus 9 soil in all areas the medium brown-greyish dense claylike soil encountered. Roots and rocks 5-10cm in length removed with Locus 9 soil as it is sorted and cleaned from the trench. Worn terra cotta and pottery found in small concentrations. Hand picks used to level high areas and along baulk walls. Baulk trim collected with Locus 9 finds. Roots clipped in preparation

for photographs. In removing the baulk wall between T 62 and T 63, a fragment of non-local stone recovered.
