AM The morning began with defining the rocks in Locus 13 and defining around the tiles and column pad. In cleaning around Locus 13, two wasters were recovered (Special Finds #71 and 72).
Special Find #71 Locus 13 26.54m AE 176.23m East 67.28m South Waster [stipple drawing]
Special Find #72 Locus 13 26.59m AE 176.50m East 67.31m South Waster [stipple drawing]
In addition to wasters, plaster, tile, pottery, and painted tile were found in moderate quantities while cleaning. The tiles were cleaned and left in places for photos once the level of the soil in the remainder of Locus 13 has been lowered. The plaster surface of Locus 11 was found to the east under the tiles which are resting at an angle. In the eastern extent of Locus 13 a darker heavily included carbon layer that was troweled and defined for clarity. A pickpass was thrown to the west of the carbon included layer and north of the tiles. The pickpass revealed small rocks concentrated in the northern 50cm of the locus. The tiles were further defined and swept. While sorting a fragment of slag (Special Find #73) [119] and a diagnostic bone (Special Find #74) were found.
