Description Locus 9 represents the entire trench except for the northwestern corner that is Locus 7. Locus 9 is a dark brown mottled soil with bluish gray inclusions throughout. The soil is highly claylike in texture. Artifacts in this locus are small in quantity and limited to primarily terra cotta, which ranges in size from less than 1 centimeter to approximately 12 centimeters and averages at palm-sized. A small number of pottery sherds and few bone fragments have been recovered from this locus. Notable finds include a statue fragment. Locus 9 is below Locus 8 and above Locus 10.
