Description Locus 5 has an area roughly 1.75 x1 m in size located approximately 1.3 meters from the eastern trench line, 96 centimeters from the southern trench line, and along the northern trench line. The locus consists of a curvilinear rock feature present in locus 4 with dark brown dense soil surrounded by yellowish brown flaky soil on the outside of the curving rock feature. The rocks were layered with small to large sized rocks, roughly 5-20 cm, alternating within each cut of the feature. Due to the shape of the feature within the locus, elevations were numbered and taken within the feature. In addition, every third bucket was sieved and most of the materials recovered were small to medium sized tile fragments, the bulk of T 60’s pottery sherds for the season, and a few small bone fragments, none of which were diagnostic. All of the materials appear ancient in date, indicating that locus 5 is a contextualized, stratified deposit. Within the locus 5 rock formation, each layer of rocks or 10 centimeter elevation was termed a “cut” and each cut was both photographed and the first 4 were drawn on millimeter paper. In locus 5, specifically within the rock formation, there were 3 carbonized seeds, 1 slag fragment, and 2 sherds of decorated fine impasto.
