Work continued in Locus 13 defining the tile pack in order to remove them and leveling down in search of a second course of rocks in either the northeast or northwest corners of the feature. Several large fragments of pan tile removed. A fourth course of tile has been revealed and a second course of stone found in all areas of the feature. Level achieved in Locus 13 . Because of the coursing of the stone and coursing of the interior tile, it seems that the annular feature is an intentional one--probably the aperture of a well like that in CA 42. Since the time remaining in the season does not provide for the full exploration of the probably well, it was decided to halt excavation in Locus 13 . Of the other remaining open loci, Locus 3 , 4 , and 11 will also be closed for the season. Locus 12 will remain open in order to work towards removing the three stumps still present on its surface. Locus 3 , 4 , and 11 scraped down for closing photographs. Closing elevations taken.
