Daily Log

Locus 1 was completed.  Approximately 2 bowls of terracotta fragments recovered.  Approximately 1 dozen pottery sherds found.

The entire area of the trench was now designated locus 2.

Opening depths of locus 2:

NE corner:  47 cm. above datum point

NW corner:  68 cm.

SW corner:  64 cm.

SE corner:  48 cm.

Center:  59 cm.

Munsell of locus 2:  hue 7.5 YR 4/2 brown

Approximately 1 1/3 cans of terracotta fragments recovered and approximately 1/3 bowl of pottery sherds found.  Locus 2 has modern debris in it (e.g., plastics, glass, metal objects).  The terracotta fragments consists mainly of pan and cover tiles.
