Daily Log
The area of the trench was divided into two loci today due to variations in soil color with the western sector appearing slightly redish and the eastern sector appearing browner.
Opening depths of locus 3:
NE corner: 41 cm. above datum point
NW corner: 57 cm.
SW corner: 54 cm.
SE corner: 45 cm.
Opening depths of locus 4:
NE corner: 57 cm. above datum point
NW corner: 65 cm.
SW corner: 61 cm.
SE corner: 54 cm.
Munsell for locus 3: hue 2.5 Y 5/2 grayish brown
Munsell for locus 4: hue 5 YR 5/4 reddish brown
Photograhps of loci 3 and 4 were taken together
In locus 3 approximately 3/4 can of terracotta fragments recovered and approximately 4 latte boxes of pottery sherds found. One terracotta fragment was saved. One tooth and 3 bone fragments found.
Closing depths of locus 3:
NE corner: 39 cm. above datum point
NW corner: 49 cm.
SW corner: 50 cm.
SE corner: 41 cm.
In locus 4 approximately 1/2 can of terracotta fragments recovered and approximately 1 latte box of pottery sherds found. One tooth and 1 bone fragment found.
The balk walls of the trench were trimmed. Approximately 1 bowl of terracotta fragments recovered and approximately 1/2 latte box of pottery sherds found. A couple fragments of bone were found.
