Began the day by continuing the trimming of the baulk walls so that we can understand the extent of the darker locus 22 soil. While trimming the baulks a red slip base was uncovered (Find #1). Since the exact location of the piece is known elevations and coordinates were taken. Began a pick pass in the western area of Locus 22 . Pick pass uncovered a large piece of carbon (Find #2). More of the carbon was recovered and the piece extends into the west baulk of the trench. It has a square profile in the wall.

We are starting to reveal a sandier soil underneath Locus 22 . We are now attempting ot uncover its extent.
