Today work began with the general defining of rocks and the excavation of the trench using hand picks, not pickaxes in order to practice caution in regards to any potential ancient floor surface. Small amounts of tile and pottery have been recovered from the loose dirt. While excavating, a piece of Medieval tile (Special Find #1) was found.

Rocks became present through the southern extent of the trench. Thus, the focus for leveling moved north. Thus, the area between the two rock features and directly to the north will be taken down and leveled.

Post-lunch, leveling of the trench continued. Special attention was paid to definition of rocks in order to ascertain the extent, orientation and any evidence of coursing. There is still no evidence of a floor surface.
