The morning began with the leveling of the southern and northern extents of the trench, bringing the surface of the floor to the interior level, between the rock feature. Before work began, opening elevations were taken.

Opening Elevations:

NW: 26.59m.AE

NE: 26.54m.AE

SW: 26.44m.AE

SE: 26.53m.AE

Pickaxes will not be used to break up the soil of the trench. Hand picks and trowels will be used to level the floor of the trench and define rocks in order to avoid destroying any potential ancient floor surface. The rock feature running west to east will be defined in an effort to gain better clarity as to its potential function. While leveling the floor running

along the northern wall, a very large root was axed out to facilitate leveling of the trench floor. Current trench diagram:

While clearing the dirt from leveling, a tooth (Special Find #1) was found.

Locus 2

Leveling of the floor of the trench and definition of the rock features continues. The soil of Locus 2 continues to be full of roots and small rocks. Special attention will still be paid to any potential compacted soil that would be indicative of a floor surface.
