The weather this morning is bright and sunny and is forecast to be very warm.

Methodology will remain the same today as before. Dirt will be picked with a pickaxe through the northern 2m x 2m extent of the trench. In the southern 2m x 2m extent of the trench, dirt will be picked with a hand pick in order to avoid the large rocks present. In both cases, dirt will be sorted by hand and put into buckets. The buckets will be dumped into a wheelbarrow which will be dumped at the designated dirt dump to the south of the trench. Today, a pick pass was begun in the northern 2m x 1m extent of the trench running parallel with the northern wall. Large rocks have been discovered in this extent as well now and will be avoided. Once the dirt

was cleared, another pick was done through the next 2m x 1m strip pulling back to the north. Little amounts of pottery and terracotta are present in the soil. Definition of larger rocks continues. Once the loose dirt from that pick was cleared, pickaxes were replaced with hand picks and leveling and definition of rocks took place. Before lunch, baulk walling was done in an effort to clean up the trench.

Post-lunch, baulk walling continued. Once the walls were baulked, roots were clipped. For the remainder of the day, the level of the floor of the trench was evened out and light baulk walling continued while the trench to the east, T-66 was prepped for reopening.
