Today the forecast is clear with sunny skies. The goal for the morning will be to declare Locus 2 . Prep for this will be done first thing. Baulk walling will be done, roots will be trimmed and the floor of the trench will be leveled.

Locus 2 is a light yellow brown claylike soil that is still full of medium and large rocks and roots. In addition to the cleaning of the trench mentioned above, defining of larger rocks and any stumps that can be, will be taken out. The dirt that is cleared from the trench while prepping to declare Locus 2 will be hand sorted, placed into a bucket, then subsequently dumped into a wheelbarrow. The wheelbarrow
will then be dumped at the dirt dump located directly to the west of the Medieval road, to the southwest of T-76, approximately 20-24 meters away. While leveling through the northern extent of the trench, a piece of vitrified terracotta (Special Find #1) was found.

After points on the special find were taken, large roots coming out of the stump located directly on the eastern baulk wall were axed out. Subsequently, the stump located in the northeast quadrant of the trench was axed out. Directly after, the small stump in the southwest quadrant of the trench was axed out. While leveling dirt in the northern extent of the trench, a piece of slag was found. This is the sixth piece of
slag found, thus slag will be bulked for the reaminder of Locus 1 . Shortly after, int he same extent of the trench, a piece of vitrified terracotta (Special Find #2) was found.
