Description Locus 1 extended throughout the surface of T-76 and sloped downward from west to east. The locus consisted of dark brown, grass and root filled soil that also contained large and small rocks measuring between 10-34 centimeters as well as small and large stumps measuring between 5-35 centimeters. Soil contained large amounts of pottery and large architectural terracotta as well as small amounts of plaster. Most of the artifacts recovered from this locus were abraded, indicating that materials may have been eroded into this stratum. Most of the material recovered from this locus date to the Archaic period, but the context is not secure and is believed to be a dump site from earlier excavations. There are no notable geological or architectural features associated with this locus. Locus 1 is topsoil.
