Began the mroning with a pick pass in the eastern-most side of the trench, still in Locus 11 . Soil remains mottled and claylike with a yellowish tinge. Soil is being sorted into buckets in the trench and there is a decent amount of terracotta, plaster and pottery being found. Much bronze residue was found in the soil, though most of it unsalvageable a bulk bronze box was established.
Pick pass in the eastern part of trench focusing on southeastern corner which was raised. Soil remains claylike and mottled with fair amounts of pottery, bone, terracotta and plaster. Continued sorting directly into buckets. Found potential akroterion fragment (Find #1).
To finish the mroning, began trowelling in the northeast and southwest corners of Locus 11 to define tiles, rocks and get closer to baulk walls.

Began afternoon work with a pick pass focused on the eastern end of trench. We continue towards exposing the burn layer, which is now evident in patches although perhaps 1/3 of the floor of the trench does not yet have the burn layer exposed.
The layer of soil being removed is mottled with numerous terracotta and carbon fragments commingled with clay and brown dirt. Numerous bone and pottery fragments recovered, along with a fair amount of tile. Sorting is being done directly in the trench into buckets.
Find #2 is a set of bucchero sherds with significant rim and possible full profile (sans base). Find #3 is a piece of bone with butcher marks.
Remaining afternoon work consisted of troweling to level the floor with cleanup done in trench into buckets.
