AM

Work began with a pickpass of Locus 11 , starting in the NW corner, where the carbon-rich burnt soil has appeared, and moving south.  Soil is heavily mottled and claylike, containing lots of terracotta and carbon inclusions, as well as many medium sized rocks.  These rocks break easily though and are not spaced lose together, so it seems highly unlikely that they constitute a feature and as such, may be removed during this pick pass.  Additionally, a large concentration of pithoi sherds, including 2 rims, exist in the southern half of the trench.  Bulk bronze was again established.

Soil was sorted in the trench directly into bucts.  During this pick pass, two pieces of butchered bone (Finds #1, 2) and a bronze nail (Find #3) were recovered.

Once this pick pass was sorted and cleaned up it was decided to trim baulk walls for the rest of the work day; work will end at 11am due to the Palio.
