June 17, 1972

Work continued with the entire crew in T19.  The remaining portions of 35-36 G-I will be cleared in order to find the remaining TC pieces.  The heavy concentration of gorgon antefix fragments continues.

The rough profile, , has been made in order to extend excavatoins towards the east.  The grids G-I are filled with a heavy tile fall and the antefixes and banquet friezes concentrate in those areas.  Sherds from this area are sent down in one box.  See .

The gorgon antefixes are very heavy in 35G and 36H.  They seem to have been gathered and dumped.  The dike, as excavated, shows essentially one stratum. The surface soil, a humous, rests directly on the debris layer of the sacntuary.  The "pavement" oto the north of the sancutary continues north and appears to fall off within grid G.  This line is represented by - - - - - .  We will not excavate under this layer.

T19 34-36 I.  This grid was laid out only for part of its length.  In order to maintain the north profile of T19, we extended the N. edge of the trench to cover the entire dimensions of I.  The tile fall is heavy.
