Description locus 2 is the soil layer directly below the topsoil. it is comprised of a yellowish soil with clay like consistency. in the beginning it has many small rock inclusions and tree roots. the amount of material removed depends on the depth, although the soil type does not change. On July 5 Locus 2 was paused in order to extend CA-80 2 meters to the north. The Locus is not officially closed although work may be finished for the season. The pausing elevations are found on page 41.
