Opening/daily elevations taken in Locus 1 . The trench surface was evened out using trowels because the final pick pass Friday left uneven mounds on the trench floor. Pick pass in northern meter uncovered the yellowish clay soil, which will be locus 2 , along with many rocks, roughly 10cm across. the munsell designation for locus 2 is 2.5Y 3/3, dark olive brown. Only 1 piece of terracotta was recovered. It took more pick passes to turn up the same yellow soil in the 1/2 meter closest to the southern baulk wall. Lots of small, 10cm across, rocks throughout the trench. Removed the baulk wall between CA-80 and .
Declared Locus 2 when the yellow clay soil was found across the entire trench. Photos were taken with the camera and the hexcopter. Special find #1 was found while sorting a pick pass in the northern meter.
