Description | Locus 3 was below only the southern and eastern meters of Locus 2 and overlay Loci 4 and 5. The soil had not dramatically changed, however Locus 3 was a concentration in methodology excavated to explore under the stones that were revealed over most of Locus 2. The soil is dark and clay-like. The locus is very rocky, with stones ranging from 3-10 cm in length. Tile, pottery, very little bone, and 2 iron tacks were recovered, along with a piece of modern glass near some tree roots, which could have been the result of bioturbation. There were two catalogued finds: a bronze disc (20160007), and a bronze rod fragment (20160003). This locus produced no clear chronological indicators. |
