Descriptive Attribute Value(s)
Tentative Date Early Bronze Age I
Designator Fill
General remarks This was another arbitrary section whose purpose was to take the area down to the level of the sounding and try to follow the surface of L 9020. The area below seemed much browner than the surface. The desired effect was not achieved and we did not find the surface, but now I have another section on the loci.
Strat below 9012
Strat abuts 9013
Strat remarks Area under arbitrary cut L 9012. This is another cut to try and trace the surface, L 9020, further south.

Has note Contexts excavated in trenches were recorded using the "locus system." A locus is any discrete three-dimensional entity excavated in a trench. The key to the locus system is the recognition that a locus is any one thing. Differences in soil composition or texture are therefore as important as, for example, the difference between a pit and a wall. If two entities were distinct, they were considered separate loci and were therefore assigned separate locus numbers. It should also be noted that every context excavated in a trench was given a locus number and thus the trench itself is made up completely of excavated loci.
