Description |
Locus 7 is the locus containing the terracotta pipe that is present within the southern wall of the Archaic building. Locus 7 contains the top half, bottom half, and all associated soil found within. Locus 7 is fairly deep, measuring approximately 30-35 centimeters in depth. The most amount of materials came from this locus, as this area was not previously excavated compared to Loci 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5. The soil of locus 7 (the soil found within the confines of the terracotta pipe) is heavily compacted and is a light olive brown. Locus 7 yielded many fragments of bone, and pottery sherds which the majority could be categorized as impasto and fine impasto. There were also multiple large fragments of architectural terracotta that were found laying flat directly on the bottom of the terracotta pipe. Locus 7 is the locus directly below Locus 3 and is directly to the south of Locus 6. |
