Architectural, General Premodern feature
Domestic, House Indeterminate date feature
Special Purpose, Burial Indeterminate date feature
Comments (Features) Probably a structure auxiliary to the neighboring S2 to the Southeast. The structure is probably rectangular in shape. S3 is significantly buried and overgrown with weeds. Rubble presence makes designation of walls inaccurate at best. Of structures S1, S2, and S3, structure 3 is the smallest, and, due to its close proximity to S2, may very well be associated with that structure. Structure 3 is rectangular in shape and oriented NW-SE/NE-SW. Determination of the exact nature of the walls of this structure has been hard in coming, due to the heavy overgrowth atop this structure, as well as its near burial from erosive processes. As best as can be assumed, only the topmost layer of stones can be observed. Construction consisted of interior and exterior rows of large cobblestones (with occasional boulders), filled in with smaller cobbles and stone rubble. A scatter of cobble falloff can be noted along the interior of S3's Southwest wall. Structure 3 is dry-constructed (i.e., no mortar used). 2 courses of stone (on Southwest wall) can be seen lying atop the surface. Northwest corner is 20 m. distant at an orientation of 260 degrees from BM 3-1. Northeast corner is 18 m. distant at an orientation of 265 degrees from BM 3-1. Southeast corner is 24 m. distant at an orientation of 246 degrees from BM 3-1. Southwest corner is 15.52 m. distant at an orientation of 255 degrees from BM 3-1. North wall: 80 cm. min thickness; 90 cm. max thickness; 85 cm. average thickness. East wall: 110 cm. min thickness; 110 cm. max thickness; 110 cm. average thickness. South wall: 130 cm. min thickness; 130 cm. max thickness; 130 cm. average thickness. West wall: min and max wall thicknesses were indeterminate. The maximum preserved height (62 cm.) was determined from 1 stone in Northwest wall.
