Description This locus encompasses the area of T-70 Locus 5 and was declared due to the appearance of compacted soil. After the locus was lowered approximately 10cm a compacted floor surface with terracotta and small tusk lying horizontally on its surface was discovered. Due to the presence and orientation of these finds as well as the similarity in elevation to a compacted floor surface in Locus 2 to the south (MVSI pg. 73-75)this compacted surface was interpreted to be a floor surface of the structure present across the 2015 area of excavation. This floor was about 5cm higher than that discovered in T-70 Locus 2, however this may be due to the slope which is higher in the north (the location of Locus 6) than in the south (the location of locus 2). This floor surface is then contemporaneous with the structure (the western wall of which was found in locus 2) which stretches across the 2015 area of excavation. A cluster of impasto pottery was also found in this locus, consisting of base fragments of a vessel lying horizontally just above the floor surface, though not directly on it. Locus 6 also yielded a significantly higher portion of pottery (27 in total) than other loci within the T-70 extension, supporting the interpretation that a floor surface of a structure is present.
