Comments (Features) | The stone structure is rectangular in shape. S1 is a rectangular structure oriented Northwest-SE (determined from the presence of a doorway in its Northwest wall). The walls are comprised of interior and exterior rows of large cobblestones (and sometimes boulders), filled in with smaller cobbles and stone rubble. At its highest point (NE wall), the structure has preserved 5 stone courses. On average, however, the other walls are preserved up to 2-3 courses. S1 is dry-constructed (i.e., no mortar used). There is possibly a door (ca. 50 cm. wide) in the middle of the N/NW wall; the center point of the door is 19 m. distant at an orientation of 199 degrees from BM 3-1. Northwest corner is 22 m. distant at an orientation of 205 degrees from BM 3-1. Southwest corner is 26 m. distant at an orientation of 188 degrees from BM 3-1. Southeast corner is 21 m. distant at an orientation of 170 degrees from BM 3-1. NE/N corner is 15.55 m. distant at an orientation of 183 degrees from BM 3-1. North wall: 68 cm. min thickness; 85 cm. max thickness; 71 cm. average thickness. South wall: 50 cm. min thickness; 82 cm. max thickness; 66 cm. average thickness. East wall: 99 cm. min thickness; 126 cm. max thickness; 110 cm. average thickness. West wall: 70 cm. min thickness; 70 cm. max thickness; 70 cm. average thickness. The structure is tallest at the Northeast wall (110 cm.). |
