| Description | The soil of locus 1 is topsoil and thus contains organic plant material as well as a significant amount of roots. It is dark brown in color on the surface, with light brown undertones due to the presence of a light brown clay. This claylike soil has allowed the topsoil of locus 1 to become very compacted. Few finds were present within this locus, though pottery, bone and terracotta were recovered. Any material discovered were extremely damaged or fragmentary due to the heavy presence of roots and plant matter |
