Trench | Tesoro 92 |
Description | Locus 7 is dry, grey/brown soil with few inclusions. Few pebbles about 2cm in size have been recovered. Locus 7 is a cut into the soil which contains little to no inclusions in the soil compared to the previous locus. Locus 7 is void of material except for a few pieces of plaster which were discarded into the tile dump and a single fragment of an impasto base. Discovered in this locus is a continuation of the rock cluster initially discovered in Locus 6. These rock clusters lead into the southern and western baulk walls and would require further investigation in future years of excavation to confirm their purpose/ lack thereof purpose. A soil sample was not obtained from this locus. The locus stretched a maximum depth of about 5 centimeters. Locus 7 lies in the western meter of the trench, under the Locus 6 modeling soil above it. It appears as though the rock cluster is situated on soil associated with Locus 6. No loci from either T-93 or T-91 are associated with this cut. |
