Four pieces of slag were discovered throughout the 2018 excavation season in loci contemporary with higher levels of found metal. One peculiarity was the discovery of a piece of pottery with slag (Supplemental find #40) adhered, potentially suggesting production of metal in an area and period contemporary with pottery production. In addition, a crucible fragment was discovered with adhered bronze in locus 6 (20180055). Unfortunately, this piece of material was discovered in the pottery bowl from a baulk trim and its origins are unknown.
