Description Locus 2 is a medium brown, claylike, somewhat compacted, included with many roots and small stones. Both the initial and closing surfaces of Locus 2 sloped gently downward from north to south. Twelve stumps five to sixty centimeters in diameter and a concentration of small stones 5-10 centimeters in length in the northeast corner are present at the surface level. Terra cotta, pottery, slag, medieval pottery, and an iron nail fragment were unearthed. The soil pack was relatively shallow--eight to sixteen centimeters deep. Locus 2 is equivalent to Locus 5 in the extension of T-87.
