Earth Remarks | Rocks being removed appear to be tumble; in Loca 10, 11, 16, 17 are more than usual amount of bone along with pottery of large jars; also quite a bit of flint; in Loca 10 near large grinder with handle was found a large amount of small gravel (2 mm-1 cm & 1-3 cm); carnelian or amber stone that beads were maybe carved out of; a seal is thought to be wood?, hole in top, triangular shaped; stamped jar handle was found in Loca 16; in Loca 20 is an ashy lens 10YR 3/3 & hard packed sub-layer extends W to balk in a S direction; two burned bone frags; 2 pithoi found in Loca 24; 3 sandstone frags found inside--one rectangular, one prism, one square (rect. sent in for soil sample to see what coats it); Levels of Pot #1 or 2 are top 913.4, bottom 912.66 |
