Earth Remarks Compacted, mottled layer of soil, ash & mudbrick detritus under brick Destruction 22; ashy lenses atop flagstone pavement 39 in N; in W balk, thick layer of vessels smashed & lying flat atop it; very dense below & to W of stacked bricks & W end of Wall 30; appears to have been soil compacted by fall of large bricks, stone, & roofing material of the destruction, overlaying surfaces; a thick burn layer, perhaps of roofing material, at the bottom in W of square; some bits of carbonized wood; many contain a disturbed layer of cobbles above lower surfaces; lower millstone (40 x 36 x 10 cm) not in situ in N room--fell from upper story
Stratigraphic Remarks Slopes upwards towards Wall 32; may be seperated from 34 by plaster on N face of 34
